If you are like many, then you may consciously or subconsciously be aware of how watching media can entice you to want to snack on foods even if you are not hungry. I know I am a victim of this. When I watch movies I sometimes want to chew on something (it’s all apart of the experience ya know?). However, I am here to say that it is important to be aware of this because snacking while watching various forms of entertainment can insidiously affect that waistline of yours. If you must snack during movies try balancing the snacks you eat with some nutritional options as well (e.g. air popped popcorn with no added ingredients, grilled chicken tenders, healthy tortilla chips and homemade guacamole dip). It is important to remember to ensure that you eat things in moderation. Of course, there will be times where you simply want to pig out, but every time you eat should not be pig-out time.
Rule: For every 1 hour of television = 15 minutes of physical activity
